Training
Sefco provides targeted training courses to impart the specialist knowledge required for independent maintenance and repair of its products. The focus is on all relevant work steps – from professional disassembly and repair to assembly and recommissioning. With the help of practical exercises and clear repair procedures, participants acquire in-depth knowledge and a deep understanding of the efficient application of our technologies.
In addition to needs-based training courses for various Sefco pumps, we offer fixed training dates four times a year for our standard products. These include the C-19/EM-40 (43) Varan III (+) trailer pump and the C-19, C-25, and G2-H/HM Hydran models.

Using state-of-the-art testing technology, Sefco offers test procedures to check the performance and reliability of your system. Our testing facility detects potential weak points at an early stage and ensures that your products function optimally under realistic conditions.
Testing services
Performance Tests
Purpose of the test
The performance test verifies all relevant operating parameters to ensure that each cryogenic pump meets the specified requirements and international standards.
Test procedure
The test is carried out on a liquid nitrogen test bench (LIN) under practical conditions in accordance with ISO 24490:2016: The pump is operated under defined load conditions and systematically measured.
Tested characteristics
Among other things, flow rate, suction and delivery pressure, medium temperature, power consumption, vibrations, sound pressure level and the function of relevant monitoring devices such as RTDs and PTCs are recorded.
Functional advantages
The test ensures documented operational safety, confirms compliance with all specifications and provides a sound basis for commissioning, operation and maintenance.
(This test is an integral part of every order and is routinely included in the price.)
Net Positive Suction Head Test
Purpose of the test
The NPSH test is used to determine the minimum inlet pressure required to ensure cavitation-free pumping. The aim is to ensure operational reliability even under critical suction conditions.
Test procedure
In a controlled environment, the suction pressure is gradually reduced to determine the cavitation limit (NPSHr). At the same time, the hydraulic characteristics are continuously monitored.
Tested characteristics
The cavitation-free operating point of the pump is determined under various operating conditions. In addition, performance at low suction pressures is analysed.
Functional advantages
The test provides reliable protection against cavitation-related damage, increases process reliability and creates planning security in the design of sophisticated systems.
(The NPSH test is not part of the standard scope and must be ordered separately if required.)
Witness Test
Purpose of the test
The Witness Test enables the customer to participate directly in the functional test. It creates maximum transparency in terms of quality, test procedures and performance data.
Test procedure
The pump is tested in accordance with project-specific requirements. Customers can monitor the test setup, test execution and measurement results in real time, either on site or digitally.
Tested characteristics
The focus is on practical performance parameters such as volume flow, pressure conditions, temperature, vibrations and noise levels. All results are documented and explained.
Functional advantages
The Witness Test strengthens confidence in the tested system, supports project validation and offers investment security by proving product conformity.
(This individual project test is available as an optional ordering option)
Overspeed Test (120%)
Purpose of the test
The overspeed test is used to validate the mechanical load capacity of the pump at 120% of the rated speed. It serves to check the structural integrity under extreme conditions.
Test procedure
After a preliminary technical inspection, the pump is gradually accelerated beyond its operating speed. All safety-related parameters are continuously monitored during the test.
Tested characteristics
Vibrations, temperature behaviour, the condition of bearings and seals, and the overall stability of the system are evaluated. All values are recorded and analysed.
Functional advantages
The test proves the mechanical safety of the pump in exceptional cases and creates the conditions for reliable continuous operation under demanding conditions.
(The overspeed test is not included in the basic package but can be ordered as an additional service).
